Airfix to release a 1/48 Defiant.
Above is my Classic Airframes B P Defiant built last year. Just heard about Airfixs new Defiant in 1/48 to be released in early 2016.
I love my CA kit, but can't help but wish I used the time building something else. I'm dying to see the Airfix version.
Very cool. Well done Airfix. Exciting times for them.
P..:)
Your build is quite nice, but I still contend that is one of the ugliest airframes ever produced (in my opinion).
Having also trudged down that road, I can say your build is a triumph of skill and determination over adversity.
And yes, the new kit's going to be great. And Xtradecal will have a sheet out with at least one Defiant from every squadron that flew it operationally.
Thank you. I see the 1/72 sheet has one in FAA colours. That would be very nice to see.

A truly interesting aircraft. The Defiant Mark II has the distinction of being the Royal Air
Force (RAF) first four gun fighter. When the Defiant entered front line service
in 1937, it was a very different fighting machine. A complete departure from the
early 1930s fighter designs. First, all four of its heavy machine guns were
housed on a turret mechanism. Second, no forward armament was installed. Quite a departure indeed. A new up to date model of this airplane should be a very welcomed addition to any collection. Very good and inspiring history, and one can see the lines of a Hawker Hurricane.
I will look forward too the new models.
It certainly looks the part, Paul, with all the lumbering, misaligned weight ratios one expects of a late 1930s British aircraft, but, too, that 'defiant' element, underpowered but still game for a fight.
Knowing what you started with, that's an impressive build Paul; those CA kits can be 'challenging'.
Thank you. I've built worse. At the moment, my Special Hobby Fiat Br-20 is one of the worst. Yet others of the same brand are very nice. I loved the Maryland. Strange.
Completing CAs to a high level is always demanding. You more than met the challenge, Paul. Great work.
Thank you. 🙂
The last hard work
Airfix will have easy construction
