1/48 Hasegawa A6m2-K trainer 302nd Naval Group.1945
Fairly weathered due to being an old A6m2. Taken off combat duties, fitted with a second cockpit ( at the expense of the front pilots canopy.) I really enjoyed this kit and love a bit of orange. 🙂
Really smart looking build, Paul.
Thanks mate.
Beautiful. I like the orange trainer scheme! Well done.
Me too. Orange is the new black... Lol.
These Japanese planes certainly make attractive models, nice one, Paul.
Thank you. 🙂
Nice build not often seen..."at the expense of the front pilot's canopy" - was this an actual omission or a result of your "kit-bashing"..?
Thank you. It's not a kit bash, it's the Hasegawa trainer kit. There was a front canopy, but it was removed. Every photo I could find seemed to support that, and the instructions said to keep it off too. I think it's because the new layout didn't allow room for it to slide back. 🙂
The trainer design had the forward cockpit open.
Nice work.
Paul, really good looking build of a seemingly obscure version of the Zero.
Whose version of IJN green and orange did you use? I've always wanted to do one of these. Did yours have the target tow equipment with it?
Thank you. I used model master enamels. Imperial Japanese Navy green, and a generic orange, which I toned down to as close as I thought would be right, going by some old colour pics. Hard to know for sure of course. 🙂
Hadn't seen one of these - I want one in 1/72! Very nicely done - those unusual schemes are fun to see.
Nice one Paul, a colourful looking bird, an unusual one to.
Well done mate.
Like nice two-seater... ZERO!
very cool subject...very nice model
Nice!
Paul,
Very nicely done.
Beautiful painting, Paul. The trainer scheme is so interesting & you've done a great job.
