Paul, fine job on this. Is it the nose profile that's reputedly "off" on this?
Thanks for posting this, I like WW II Japanese planes. I was pleased to hear this was out, but then the negative comments started. Not cheap, either.
It is certainly an obscure aircraft to most, which is why I like it.
Not to take away from your build which is very well done. I paid $99 for this lil beaut when it first came out and have never been more burned by a model ever. AZ really screwed the pooch on this one from A to Z. I'm not sure if the Vultee Vengeance was worse but it doesn't matter.
BTW the Lily is for sale if anyone's interested. π
Thank you. And sorry to hear that for you too. I glided through it. Mind you, I'm in the middle of a Fiat Br20 which is a nightmare. I've been doing it on/off for two years. I'd love a Vengeance. Lol. Want one. I'd buy that if you had it. One Lily is enough sorry. Lol. All the best.
If you REALLY want a Vengeance my LHS has 2 on his shelf for about 4 years now. Wonder why? You gotta REALLY want it as they have something like $79.99 on them IIRC. If you seriously want one send me a PM and we'll talk about details.
I've bought (at retail) both, and posted both. They were and are awful, but the only games in town. Burned isn't an adequate description of how I felt, but I persevered and they came out well, IMHO.
I swore to read the reviews of others before going that route again.
Paul - I like the scheme you did for this one. I've got lots of Japanese planes to build, and am looking for a variety of different schemes so they all aren't just "green!" Mind me asking what the 2 top colors were? FS #'s are fine if you have them.
Hi Greg, I used modelmaster enamels. Japanese army green for the stripes and my own mix of the same green, and white for the base colour. You could also use japanese light green from modelmaster. π

Thank you. Yes, the nose was wrong, the fit bad, sparse interior and foggy canopies. Lol. None of that worried me. Looks pretty close I think.

Yeah, I REALLY do want one. But I can get them cheaper brand new. I can get one $55 in Australia. Many thanks anyway.

Fair enough. I must be in a minority. I've had nightmares though. π
