1:48 Tanmodel Republic RF-84F Thunderflash Luftwaffe
These are the final photos of my Thunderflash. Actually I'm an armor guy and it's been a long time at least 25 years since I tackled with an aircraft. I really liked Tanmodel's first 1:48 kit, the company has a promising future. The fit was very good, some panel lines was very soft but all around it was a good kit. Hope you enjoy looking it!
Wow - a great entry for a "non-aircraft" modeler! Looks like you've got the weathering down pretty well from your days on armor.
Thanks a lot Greg. It was a fun build!
If this is an example of Tanmodel's first foray into 48th scale aircraft, I shall be curious to see what other kits they have to offer in the future. Perhaps some other not-so-often seen builds. This one came out beautifully, and I agree with Greg's opinion(s) in regard to your weathering/detailing skills - well done.
Thanks Craig. Nowadays they are working on a 1/72 Buccaneer and 1/32 Northrop F-5A if I remember correctly.
MAGNIFICENT! I like the way you weathered this Thunderflash. The RF 84 F saw service with a number of NATO countries. This kit is a must have for me. Thanks for posting this one. Hope to see more of your models soon.
Thanks Morne. I'm glad you liked it. I'm sure there will be more to come 🙂
Excellent build, great job on the camera bays.
Thank you Robert 🙂
Wow, now that is fantastic!
Thanks a lot Rob 🙂
Terrific finish on this, I'd be interested to know what extra work you've done on this kit, surely this is not "out of the box"?
Thank you George. This is OOB, I only added some photoetch belts thats all. Glad you liked it! 🙂
Like !
Thanks a lot 🙂
Impressive build !
Thank you very much Bernd. Glad you liked it! 🙂
Sometimes aircraft in between AFVs builds would be a great addition 🙂
Cemal, you've created a really visceral-looking model. It has an interesting mix of detailing and finish that's somehow 'personal' - very nice.
PS meant to add that Cybermodeler has a good in-box/build review of the kit from Feb '16 if anyone wants to get some background to the kit.
Thank you very much for your kind words Rob. Doing something a bit different was my intent in the first place, if I accomplished that I'm very happy 🙂
Your build is just terrific. First class weathering indicates a lazy ground crew! Seriously, a great job on a kit I'm not familiar with.
Hello Cemal,
Stunning model.
How the h*ll did I miss this one ?
Superb model, just superb and the re-issued and modified version of this kit has just come-out. I will definitely be building one of these very soon.
Ian.
Outstanding!
This kit is my pojects, maybe after the F-84F. Congrats for weathering !
