Revell 1/72 Macchi C.200 Saetta
This was my second kit completed just over a year ago. Having just purchased an airbrush, I needed something to practice on, and this was it - the cheapest kit I could find. The kit itself is pretty dated now but goes together well enough - with a piece of plasticard to blank off the undercarriage bays. It was important for me because it the first use of the airbrush - the base green, yellow nose and white band, and the use of masking - particularly the leading edge wrap over. The white fuselage band was an introduction to the mysteries of masking compound curves. The leaf pattern camo was added by brush. paints were Revell acrylics - the ones that came with the Hurricane ii.
Humbrol enamels were used for the rest and it was finished off with some Flory washes.
The kit came with an excellent set of cartograph decals - worth the price of the kit itself.
Italian aircraft and colour schemes are some of my favourites - a 1/48 Tamiya Saetta waits in the stash ! Thanks for looking. Dave
Beautiful camouflage job, David.
thank you Craig
Nicely done! Love those Italian paint schemes.
Great job, I think you've mastered the airbrush.
Very neat work, if you can master the technique in 1/72 I'm really looking forward to seeing your 1/48 version.
VERY nicely done, David.
