F-4B Phantom “Sundowners” 1:48 (Eduard / Academy)
Hi,
Double Ugly is finished, looking very impresive but not ugly at all! The kit is well known, I personaly was just a little bit disappointed with few missing instructions and not very good described painting of included weapon (and missing stripes!).
However, finally the result is great and worth of one year building. I already look forward to version J, which I got as a gift. For now, I am very happy to add another colorful navy's bird into my collection.
Next time I will try to surprise you with a little bit different and unusual kit. (it is a secret! 🙂
I discussed photo quality with my friend and took few new better looking pictures. Thank you all for big support, it gives me more energy and passion to my next projects. 🙂
Martin, fine job on what is (IMHO) the prettiest scheme on a Phantom, though the CAG version adds a little.
My other favorite is VF-84.
Great stuff! Looking forward to the upcoming surprise.
In a word: Phabulous ! Love this beast - can't have too many F-4's IMO. 🙂
Cracking job. Looks great.
Great,
A full year in the making? It looks like it was well worth all the work. Fantastic! Can't beat the Phantom in the grey and white scheme.
Is there a better looking jet ever made than a Phantom? Nice job
I'm not sure if the Phantom is the best looking jet ever, but it's certainly up there as this example shows. I started to build the same kit last year as part of the group build but have stalled in trying to fit the Eduard cockpit...I'll have to dig it out sometime and have another try.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder haha 🙂
A Phabulous Phantom build, A very colorful scheme indeed. Another cool one is VF-31's.
Very nice!
My another one will be VF-92 CAG from USS Constellation.

But this will tak some tome to build it and yet there are some other kits to be bulit.
P.S. Crusader is coming in May from Eduard, can't wait so long time 🙂
P.S.S. You can definitely see this Phantom in Moson and Bratislava this year.
Nice model Martin, congrats
Well done! Very nice Phanton! Prefect weathering.
Beautifully done! Phantom is my fav aircraft, and this is one of my favorite Navy versions - I've got one to do in 1/72 and will use yours as a reference. I love the finish work you did on this one.
Hello Martin,
Striking model. Remarkable paint job.
Regards, Dirk/The Netherlands.
Beautiful Wwork on your Phantom, Martin! I have this kit in the stash and hope it turns out half as well as yours.
Amazing burnt metal panels!
I am proud of achieving as much as possible real look. However, next time I want to get even better.
Every single detail of this Phantom shows how much passion you put in this project. I especially like the decent shine.
Very convincing photography too.
Looking forward to seeing you and her in Moson.
You did a perfect job on this beautiful jet and scheme, congrats!
That's a fantastic bit of work! Perfect in every way!
Love the Phantom and the colorful era it lived in
