Tamiya 1/48th F4F-4 Wildcat VF-22
Tamiya's 1/48th Scale F4F-4 Wildcat in the tri color scheme worn by VF-22 aboard the USS Independence, late 1942. Paint is Tamiya acrylics thinned with Mr. Color Leveling Thinner. Decals are from the kit and the only additions are some Eduard photoetch for the cockpit. It went together well, but joining the wing to the fuselage means that unless you achieve a perfect fit, you'll be losing some molded detail, some of which is raised. Other than that, the fit was perfect. I used rolled up Blue Tac poster putty to get a softer edge between the blues, but for some reason, it came out as a pretty straight line. Oh well.
Nice 'Cat.

Beautiful job on that Wildcat, Frank...love it!
I don't see many Wildcats finished off in that 2-blue scheme - it looks really nice! Great work on this one.
