1/72 Airfix MiG-15
I did this kit a few months back. It is an attempt to depict the MiG-15 at the Planes of Fame Museum at Chino, CA. It “started life” as a 1970’s Airfix “baggie” kit, hence there were SOME fit and detail issues. This was my first (and a bit lame) attempt at sanding down raised panel lines and re-scribing a kit. Main landing gear, articulated gear doors, and various antennas were scratch built. Paint was Vallejo Model Air and Tamiya acrylics. Decals were a hodge podge. I have since sent it as a gift to Chris Fahey (yellow helmet) who flies it regularly at air shows. Sorry there’s only one photo. I guess I got rid of the others…my bad.

I like it, but what a tease to just put a single photo up!

Great job on an ancient kit.

Good work, Tom. Not an easy model to make look that nice. I’m sure it took a lot of TLC.

I just love jets of this era, great job, but more photographs would be appreciated.
