Republic F 84E-10-RE Thunderjet, 49-2233, Skyblazers Team, 22nd FBS, 36th FBG, 12th AF, USAFE Furstenfeldbruck Germany 1951.
1/72 Tamiya, converted from a G to an E model by extending the tail, changing the speed brake and filling the auxiliary intakes and refueling port, I extended some of the gun barrels and modified the hatch attachment, finished in MM enamels with Future over Experts Choice and kit decals, built 2014.
Really nice build,(Hi Ho silver) very well painted and great model.
Thanks Jim.
Awesome build! nice gun bay detail.
Thanks Robert.
Nicely done, Allan...when I first saw this, I thought it was the 48th kit..! Now I'm even more impressed seeing that it's in that "small" scale. 🙂
Thank you Craig.
Beautifully done!
Thanks Rob.
I agree with everyone above. This one is really amazing, especially when you consider the size of it. Great work!
Thank you Louis.
Nice result. Good work on the NMF and the decals.
All the model companies get it wrong, but the truth is (as I found out when I saw an F-85 canopy out at Chino) that all that bracing is clear plastic applied inside the canopy. Like I said, every company has gotten it wrong, and nearly drove myself nuts doing it right on a 1/32 kit.
F-84. Old Fumble Fingers strikes again.
Thanks Tom.
Allan, just a beautiful build! From the colorful 50s in USAFE. First 72nd Tamiya Thunderjet I've seen built, nice modifications to backdate it to an -E.
Thank you Bernard.
Allan - that one's a real stunner! Love it!
Thank you Greg.
Jets from this era are usually very attractive and you've brought out the best of this one, very neat work.
Thank you George.
Beautiful! Nicely done, Allan!
