Stefanikovo kridlo 2017, Ivanka pri Dunaji, Slovakia
On 6th May it was sunny beautiful day and I was presenting my recent kits in Ivanka pri Dunaji, where a local show named after famous pilot, politican and Tschechoslovakia founder was hold - Stefanikovo kridlo (Stefanik's wing).
The show is quite small, but full of exellent kits, good mood, smiles and local caffe was just with one word - amazing!
In case you live near there in Slovakia, Austria, Hungary or Czechia, this is definitely recommeded for your visit. Everything was well organized, with no delays, everybody was very helpful and friendly.
After I decided to put my Phantom into scoring contest, I found out that there is already 5 or 6 very nice kits and all my courage and hope was off.
I was just praying for some good but not last place 🙂 ...
However, the weather was very nice and we enjoyed the day with coffe, cakes, big toasts and relax under the pines in their gently casted shadow.
In the end, even if I did not expect any award, I got five for 4 kits (Hawkeye, Phantom, Thunderbolt and Super Sabre)! The Thunderbolt photo here is not mine, it is built by Martin Jursa, one of great modellers in Slovakia.
For me, the biggest surprise came when my Phantom got 2nd place in scoring contest...
I left the show excited, motivated to build even better my next builds to be able bring some new and beautiful kit next year.
My big thanks go to organizers and all sponsors for valuable prizes!

Some quite exceptional talent on display there for what you describe as a "small show"...I really like those [first place?] award figures (and congrats on your Phantom - well deserved, sir).
Martin, thanks for posting these, there is some wonderful work on display. Congratulations on your Phantom. Some real talent shown!
Congratulations on the win, thanks for sharing.
That diorama with the guys on the metro with the flame thrower and the minigun? you couldn't write that!
Yeah, the Metro diorama looked fantastic and like a real... Unique idea and work.
Martin, this is a wonderful report! Thanks for sharing with us. It may have been as you said, small but it certainly was full of top quality models.
Congratulations on your excellent entries, especially that Phantom.
I really like the Viking Longship & the Greek ramming ship. At least I THINK it may be Greek. It IS great!
That Viking ship was awarded and the Liburna as well.
I was admiring that Su-27 - very nicely weathered and attractively burned engine metal surface... Next one was F-104 Starfighter with open panels - also remarkable masterpiece.
Thanks for an interesting report. Some excellent models there.
Does the show has a homepage?
Could you post a link?
Is there a date for the next show?
I live in Berlin and it is my ambition to go to more modelling events in central and eastern Europe.
unfortunately, website is in slovak language only. next show will be again around 1st of May... some week after Moson
Thanks for the link Martin.
I've made a note of it.
