Finally completed. Ilyushin Il-4 A3 10th guard long range bomber squadron 1 regiment. 1944 Xuntong kit. Tough build. Glad its over but love the result. ?
Hope you like.
Great-looking build, and perfect timing! I just bought a set of Akan paints to test them out, and the IL-4 was one of the subjects the set was designed for, so I'm pulling out my Master Model 1/72 kit to do so. How about a few more pics for reference material...? I like the weathering and chipping you did on it.
Excellent work (and like Greg said, weathering/chipping looks great)...that masking job looks like it was a real headache, though. Turned out well, however.
Lovely job of an aircraft I've never seen before, kind of like a predessesor of the B17 with two engines like the Avro Manchester was to the Lancaster. How much more satisfying is it to complete a really challenging kit rather than the latest Tamygawafix masterpiece and end up with a really nice and interesting addition to your collection, well done Paul.

Hey Greg are you going to build that SU-2 that's lurking in your stash at the same time...

Very nice result. I took a look at the kit when it was in the shop and passed. You demonstrated that it's a "tough build" but the result is great.
That is a unique looking aircraft, and you did a great job on it.
Great build on an unusual subject.
Now that's impressive! Thanks for sharing.
The effort was worth it, you've ended up with a great model.
Great model! Thank you for showing interest in Russian planes!
Just seen this- what a lovely build of a unique subject.
Hi Mike, thanks so much. It was fun to build. Very nice kit for a pretty short run etc.
