Airfix 1/24 Hawker Typhoon MK1B
Biggest model I`ve built to date, and an enjoyable one to do. This is still work in progress as regards the ordnance which is constructed but not painted. I used some artistic licence on this model and put my own initials on the fuselage and painted the nose cone a different colour just for fun.
Very nicely detailed model. Careful finishing. Artistic freedom fully accepted when building art.
Thank you for your kind comments.
Beautiful work, sir...this scale leaves a lot of room for detailing and you've shown that aspect nicely. Welcome to iModeler.
Thank you, yes this model was highly detailed and far exceeded the normal Airfix kits.
Beautifully done, Robert!
Thank you, I did enjoy building that model.
The Typhoon was a great looking aircraft and your model really captures its character.
Great model to build.
Nice details in the engine and cockpit as well as the painting and markings. Well done.!
The cockpit photos were a bit out of focus, have to get a better camera.
Very nice, Robert. I built this as well back when it was first released and agree it’s a great kit with plenty of scope for detailing.
Yes it`s a great kit, the only downside is all the seam lines on the small pieces which all have to be scraped off, easy to do, just takes forever.
Very nice indeed Robert !
Thank you David.
Excellent work! That's got to be a massive model!
Sure is, wingspan is 21ins, length is 18ins, had to put an extension on the width of the shelf so it could fit.
Superb job Rob! An awful lot of work right there and great results!
There is a lot of work but it is enjoyable to do.
Very nice indeed, Great detail work. Excellent.
Thank you.
I LIKE that you personalized this model with your initials & your chosen spinner color.
Beautifully done, Robert!
