iModeler random award October.
In October, I was very fortunate to win the iModeler random award. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Martin and all the team for the Airfix 1/48th Curtiss Tomahawk Mk.II I received. I've not yet posted a WIP on iModeler, but would like to make this my first contribution when I start it in the next week or so. Thanks again to Martin and all the members of the team, warmest regards, Julian.
Congratulations Julian - happy modelling!
Many thanks David. I hope your fully recovered now.
Feeling much better now Julian - thanks for asking - still trying to get some builds completed!
I'm pleased to hear that David. I know what you mean about getting builds completed. I really want to finish this one.
Congrats Julian, I hear it's a great kit. Look forward to seeing her done.
Thank you Tom. Like yourself, I've heard good things about this kit.
I'm happy for you, sir...but why does your dog looks happier than you do in that picture? Just kidding, my friend...that's a nice kit - congratulations, Julian. 🙂
Hello Craig, thank you. When my daughter saw the photo, she said why didn't you smile. Looking back, I should have listened. ?
Thanks again my friend, take care.
Well...just like when you post any article, you can always select "edit", take another picture and re-post it. We have a tendency NOT to listen to our kids sometimes. 🙂
I told my daughter it's my enigmatic smile like on Mona Lisa painting. ?
I know you'll do a fantastic job, Julian! Congrats!
Thank you David. I hope so.
Congratulations, I look forward to seeing the build.
Thank you Marc.
Julian, congratulations! You'll like it, best one of its type yet!
Hi Bernie, thank you.
Congratulations on the award
Thank you Tomas. I was lucky.
Good choice Julian. Enjoy.
Thank you Anthony, I'm sure I will.
Can't wait to see the build, sir.
Hello Robert, thanks. I hope I can make it enjoyable for you.
Congratulations, Julian! You’re going to love that kit. I built the Pearl Harbor version back in January. Just got the RAF Tomahawk this past week. Which version are you doing? I’m planning on using the 112 Sq. shark mouth of course!
Thanks John. I've just been admiring your Pearl Harbour version, and very nice it is too. I'm taking a shine to the 26 Squadron version at the moment. I will look at both yours and Tom's for a few tips.
Thanks for the compliment, Julian. I didn’t put the aerial wires on mine simply because it makes it harder to keep the dust off off. I won a bronze with it at our local IPMS (Butch O’hare chapter) contest here in suburban Chicago last week. I can’t wait to see yours. I really like this kit and may even do a Soviet version too.
Well done on winning the Bronze John.
Looking forward to seeing it Julian!
Thank you Greg. I hope to start it very soon.
You're a lucky man, Julian. Enigmatic smile indeed!
Like you, the only thing I've posted are comments and I've made a lot of virtual friends. I've actually spent some time with Tom Bebout (a great fellow). but he's the only one I know of. SO far!
Congratulations!
Hello Jeffry, many thanks.
Congratulations my friend ! You picked out a great choice I might add. If this kit builds like the previous P-40 that Airfix recently released then you will have a blast with it. And despite what some naysayers have said on other websites, this is a very accurate model. Trust me on that. The flaps really do have a little gap on the trailing edge when they are raised. I've been around the real plane and took a ton of detail photos. If you need some pictures of the real plane during your build, please don't hesitate to ask.
Congrats again my friend. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Hello Louis,
Thank you my friend, I really appreciate your offer. I'll take note of the gap that is present on the real aircraft.
Wonderful. Hope you'll enjoy the build!
Hi Martin,
Thank you, I'm sure I will. Thanks again for the gift.
Congratulations, Julian, I know it's a random award, but very much deserved anyway. These latest Airfix kits are getting rave reviews and have brought Airfix back to the forefront as far as plastic kits are concerned. I'm certain you'll make the most of this model, and I, for one, can't wait to see the result.
Hello George,
thank you. Airfix are producing some first rate kits now. I loved making them as a kid, as I'm sure you did. I'm look forward to the Sea Fury.
Congrats! This is a great kit. You will enjoy it thoroughly!
Thank you Morne, people say good things about it.
Well done! Enjoy!
Thanks Paul. I'm sure I will.
A big congrats!
Thank you Charles. I'm hoping to get started on it soon.
Congratulations Julian. Wonderful Airfix kit and I'm looking forward to see your building progress on this one.
Thank you Ferry.
Congrats Julian. Awaiting the build...
Hello George, thank you.
Congrats Julian! looking forward to the build
Thank you Cricket. It's been a while since I've built anything.
