Tamiya 1/35 Challenger 2
Dont you just love building these Tamiya kits, there so well made. This was one of the first tanks I built when I took up the hobby when I retired. Two years later I had another go at it because I wasn
t happy with the result. I am more or less happy with it now, but with a model like this you can still play around with it. Not many colours used and all the weathering done with graphite.
Can't go wrong with anything with the Tamiya name on it, Robert.
(and to answer your PM question, those "karma points" simply accumulate whenever you 1) post an article 2) reply to another's post 3) reply to a personal message, etc. - all have varying 'points' assigned. basically they mean nothing - just a way to keep track of your activity). 🙂
Thanks.
Nice work on what's probably the finest tank available, can't go wrong with a Tamiya.

Looks very nice. The graphite really made some of the detail pop.
Robert, I just wanted to say the posts you have been making recently have all showcased really outstanding skills and outcomes - thanks for posting. And I agree with Greg that work with the graphite is really impressive!
Thanks for the nice comments Paul, I`m just a guy who took up the hobby when I retired and really enjoy doing it , I like to share my models with other people and will also share what knowledge I have.
This is a very good presentation. I like it a lot ! Looks like you shrunk down a real one...
Neil, as a former US Army tanker I'm biased towards the Abrams 🙂 I think Jeff Baily would be too...
I`d like to build the Abrams model, they do one with the plough on the front.
Yeppir!
The Challenger is definitely one of the 3 or 4 best tanks in the world. I wouldn't want to have to fight against ANY of the best out there. I think each have their strong points, so I'd hate to have to say for sure which one was best. However, a great crew in an average tank will likely triumph over a "so-so" crew in a great tank!
Tamiya have a good reputation for quality and I think you've made the most of this Challenger, the graphite weathering works a treat.
