Year of the Cat F4F Wildcat
Got too busy with the holiday season and also wanted to get one of these posted before the year was over. So, there's no antenna as I couldn't wait for some EZ Line. I should've taken the photos yesterday when it was a little overcast to diffuse the light a bit. Instead I took them today when it was sunny and -2 degrees F! (That's -19C for the metric people!) Needless to say I only took a few!
The kit was is the 1/48 Tamiya and I have to say was a joy to build and I just love doing the tri-color scheme! It's nice to finally have a Wildcat for my Navy lineup. Hopefully I'l get the F9F Panther finished up in the next couple of days followed by the 74sq Lightning.
Upon viewing this article on the site, I see the photos are quite blurry! I'll replace them when it warms up a bit!
Those Tamiya Wildcats are sweet little kits, aren't they?
It's nice to have one just fall together! I want to do my Brewster Buffalo to go with it now. (And maybe another Wildcat with yellow wings, just for some color!)
Thanks for posting the Wildcat. It's a great little kit. Yours really looks great and thanks for building something for the Year of the Cat GB. Have a Happy New Year.
I'll be looking forward to seeing your Panther jet.
Just need to paint the actuators for the speed brakes, install them and it's done.
That's nice. An F4F in tri-color isn't that common (FM-1's more so), so that makes it stand out. Tamiya Wildcat's a real honey.
That's a real beauty, Josh! I love the tri-color scheme, too.
Nice Wildcat Jeff. Happy New Year!
Real nice Wildcat!
