Modernized Missouri
As a new member on this forum, I would like to show you some of my works. This is the first piece, the USS Missouri. The kit started its “life” as a Tamiya New Yersey and the modification was not so hard as the two ships were almost identical after modernization. I upgraded the kit with JAG turrets, Tomahawk launchers and Gold Medal Models railings and radars. The water is Vallejo acrylic gel.

Good overall impression, Sebestyen. I wondered what material you chose for the rigging. It looks substantial!

Thanks for the appreciation. The rigging is copper wire. It’s not the best material, because it’s hard to paint and sometimes it’s hard to find the correct thickness. Recently I started to use other materials too.

Fantastic 1st post! That is a remarkable build. Love naval subjects myself. I really like everything you added to it and great job on the water.

Very nice, I have been on the Missouri a couple of times as she is now at Pearl Harbor, I re-enlisted aboard her on our return home from Iraqi Freedom when I was on the Connie. Anyway, you did a great job, she is a magnificent ship and you captured her well, nicely done!
