Australian Flying Corps pilot – 54mm Model Cellar
Hi all, been a while since I posted but here is one of my favourites. This started out as the Billy Bishop kit from Model Cellar but I only model AFC so a new head was in order. This one is an old Verlinden one I had in the spares box.
Painted in Vallejo acrylics and flesh tones in oils.
Hope you like!

The detail in this just staggers me. When it comes to figures I always struggle to translate what I see in my head into reality, no matter how many tutorials I watch or follow. Great expression on his face, like he’s grappling with a problem he just can’t reach.

Thanks David, I was contemplating having him staring at a grave marker of a fellow flier, possibly one made from a four bladed propeller which were not uncommon for aircrew. Thought it might be a little too morbid.

Beautifully done! Looks like it could be the thousand yard stare.
