Scratch built type 23 Royal Navy frigate HMS Richmond
I built this about 4 years ago for the Captain of the said ship. He said he wanted it bigger than the Type 22 I made him previously. I built it from photos he had given me (about 100). The model is made from pine and ply. He invited me on board the ship and showed me where he was going to place it, with a nice cup of tea.
The Captain was very lucky to have such a detailed model made for him.
I've always thought the type 23 is a great looking frigate.
Yes I agree Julian goo looking ship.I’ll get round to making a type 26 one day. Thanks for the comment.
Amazing work for scratch building - and wood to boot!
Thanks again Greg.
Do you have any more pictures of her?
It would be nice to see some more of this model.

My compliments on achieving this great build.
Thanks again Dirk.Once I had finished it I found it hard to have to part with it,but that’s the way it goes sometimes.
