it directs the wind in a venturi effect around the fuel tank...stops vibration and tail flutter caused by switching from wooden wings to metal...it was a cheap fix the military wouldn't pay for so curtiss came up with this
Hello Yves
I had the pleasure of looking (holding) this magnificent Curtiss last Friday, during the club meeting in Eeklo (Belgium)
It looked fantastic. What a color scheme these aircraft had during the 30's.
You are making a lot of progress in constructing these rather large 1/32 models.
Regards, your comrade in constructing models, Dirk
Beautiful job!
Nice work, Yves!
Good to see you got "Willow Green" right. Many people fail at that task.
Nice work.
Hello
thanks for the comments.
I used the Hataka paints for the willow green and the blue
The aluminium is AK.
The Orange is Mr Hobby.
I have one question for you:
Do you know what is the use of the ring under the engine in front of the fuel tank?
Greetz.
