I just painted the Braunviolet areas on my 1/32 Zoukei-Mura Do-335 Pfeil this afternoon. I used Mission Models paints on top of AK interactive Xtreme Metals. Adherence of the MMP was really good even on top of hairspray treated ares. A couple of spots lifted off when I pulled the tape off, but it was down at the Alclad primer level. Don't know why it didn't stick. Anyway, It's really no big deal since I can easily retouch those three tiny areas where it happened.
I really like the way your Pfeil looking, better in every update George. I had some tape peeling with MRP paints last year and that tottaly caught me by surprise. After that event I go for them only if no masking is involved. That said they do stay beautifully
Thanks, Pedro. Lately, I've had lots of issues with all brands of paint peeling and I can't figure out why. The only conclusion I've come to is that I've been polishing the pastic too much and the paint refuses to adhere properly as a result.
George, This is really looking good, I was concerned about your clear fuselage issues, but I can see now that it turned out very nice. I'm enjoying following this. Keep it coming !
That clear plastic was a total pain. Never again!
Looking really nice, George.
Thanks, Gary.
