1/48 Zvezda Lavockin La-5
Eskadrilya Valeriy Chklov of 11 GIAP, winter 1942/43. Cockpit enhanced with Eduard photo etch parts. Akan paints used over all surfaces including cockpit. White distemper paint was sprayed using the "salt" technique. Aerial wires done with stretched sprue, which is what I use exclusively on all my builds. Fly tying lead wire used for brake lines. Aftermarket decals from AML.
These Lavochkin were ungainly planes in the ground but deadly foes on the air. Nice work Dale, especially the uneven white distemper coat. How did the AML decals behaved? I’ve always found them suspicious on the sheet to be honest
Thanks Pedro. I had no problems with the AML decals. Used Micro set/ sol for a good result.
Lovely work that shows a nice touch, Dale. Those soft lines are really pleasing to eye and the tonal variation is terrific. Great modeling.
