Tamiya 1/48 Dewoitine D.520
I have recently restarted making models after a long gap more than 30 years. Although aged eyes are really a problem for a 63 year-old modeler, building aircraft kits is a big fun anyway. This D.520 is completely out of the box including the decals, and weatherings are minimal. Thank you for watching;
PS. I wrote it was completely OOB, but I forgot to tell that some details were added to the seat, and the gunsight (OPL “lantern” gunsight) was scratch-built using a clear plastic sheet and minute insect pins.
Following the feedbacks from readers, I removed the aerial line between the antenna mast and the vertical tail, and uploaded the photo after the modification. All of your comments are helpful! Thank you.

That’s really nice. Perfect subtle weathering.

Definitly like it! Lovely model. As for tired eyes, I feel you and I’m just 46;-)

Yep, modeling really is “like riding a bicycle.” Very nice work!

Yep, modeling really is “like riding a bicycle.” Well, if you mean potential disaster and personal injury ar every turn…you’ve nailed it Tom.
Great Tatooine, Shun.

Really nice work on this! If your having vision problems, try looking at the Optivisor range of magnifiers. I’ve been using one for years. Also you may want to check references but to my knowledge there was no wire running from the aerial to the fin on the D-520.

Thank you all guys for kind words, which are so encouraging that I can keep modeling!
I particularly appreciate the comment by dale travis about the antenna line of D520. I simply followed the box art of the Tamiya kit without a serious checking of wartime photos.

Dale is right, because I cannot find photos on the web showing the line between the antenna rod and the vertical fin. I am now thinking to REMOVE the line from the finished model….

Glad my comment was helpful Shun.

Very nice job. I agree with Dale. Here is a photo I used for my build but you can’t tell if the wire is there or not.

Thanks a lot, George! This is exactly the photo of A/C that I built.
I wonder why the artist of the box art of TAMIYA depicted the fantasy aerial line at all.
