Yakovlev Yak-36 Freehand, Anigrand 1/144
The Yakovlev Yak-36 is one of three bonus kits in Anigrand‘s offering of the Ekranoplan Lun in 1/144. It is a short-run resin kit from Hongkong. I reworked the landing gear, scratch-built the thrust deflector between the front and rear gear, thinned the front thrust deflector and replaced the landing gear doors with thin plastic sheet. After the usual filling, grinding, filling, grinding… I airbrushed with Revell 90 Aquacolor and accentuated with brushed Revell 90 and 99 enamel. Antenna and pitot tubes were added from plastic sheet and wire.

Nice little jet as was the real thing! I don’t know why Yakovlev didn’t develop this design further instead of opting for the dead weight of two extra lift engines in the Forger. So when do we get to see the Yak-38, 141 and the Ekranoplan herself? (BTW, great job on the photos of such a tiny subject!!)

Thanks for your kind feedback.
My photo setup is super simple:
– black glass plate from IKEA (BESTA furniture series)
– color-proof LED lamp
– lightgrey photo cardboard for the background
– IPhone camera

nice work on this small wonder. What an ugly aircraft it was!

Great model for your first post! Well done, Thomas.
This is a totally new experimental aircraft to me, too.

It is good to see an Anigrand kit actually built. And in such a nice way too!
Beside the model the photos are exquisite! Thank you for the setup description.
