Airfix Desert Spitfire IX 1/72

August 25, 2019 · in Aviation · · 16 · 2.3K

Hi iModelers:
I built a lot of models up to my teens, then abandoned the hobby for years. With my recent retirement, I've built a couple and hope to build a lot more. This is my first one (after a special car model I built as a present for my wife - will be in a future post).

It is the newer generation kit. Kit decals. Vacuform canopy from Squadron. EZ line aerial. Non-authentic cockpit sidewall bits from an Me-109 resin set.

Camo paints are Italeri (Dark Earth, Mid Stone, Azure Blue) airbrushed. Details various acrylics and enamels brush painted. Exhaust, oil, and gunpowder stains brush painted.
