AMP Sikorsky HO3S-1 1/48

November 22, 2019 · in Aviation · · 21 · 6K

Lovely kit by of this rather odd-looking but useful early helicopter. Being a fan of the non-mainstream I couldn't help myself.

The kit is very complete in its offering; Besides the plastic you get a p.e. fret and masks. I did some further improvements in certain areas but nothing ground-breaking.

The instructions could have received some more care though; they need guesswork at points.

Masks are a nice addition, but most of them don't fit; they're smaller in size. So I had to do additional masking using self-adhesive vinyl.

I used positive rivets in the hope they would add more interest. Unfortunally they didn't work as their instructions hoped to, but being silver they show beneath the yellow paint so all good there.

The model was painted with acrylic yellow over white primer and dirtied with oils and dry pastels.
