Thank you Chuck!
The other day, I got a message from a fellow modeler on this site named Chuck Villanueva, who wanted to send me a gift. And I was reluctant at first, I didnt know what to say, but I ultimately exchanged details with him, and he sent me this MONSTER F4U Corsair, by Revell, in 1/32 scale. In addition to the kit, there is a Squadron Products True Detail Cockpit set. I cant even thank him enough for this gift. And I will definately pay it forward, which is what he told me to do instead of sending him something in return. I’ll be sure to spend lots of time on it, and go over every step carefully, and if yall have any tips, they would be greatly appreciated. Merry Christmas, and thank you so much, Chuck!

This is a great example of spreading good Will. Merry Christmas Jordyn. I Hope that you enjoy your new Corsair. If there’s time, consider starting a new build journal like you did with the Stuka. That would really be cool.

I will. I definately will.

This old kit brought back memories for me – I built it as a kid then again about 15 years ago. When I was a kid I was obsessed with making the foldable wings movable – it didn’t work out too well. The second time I built it, I glued the wings in place. Also, its a good thing you have a cockpit set since the kit pit is quite sparse. I used the Verlinden set and I think it made the model for me since the rest of the kit doesn’t look too bad at all. At least to me.
Enjoy the build.

I do really like the detail that is included. It looks nice. But, like you said, the cockpit is sparse, so the addition of the resin kit is awesome. I’ll enjoy it, and I hope I give justice to the Sweetheart of Okinawa.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the cowl flaps are all wrong. They are all the same size. In reality they alternate between wide and narrow. I cut new flaps from a soda can.

I would, but I’m not great at scratch building lol. And I’ve temporarily misplaced the cowling. Its here in my room, but I’m having issues remembering where, lol. But it’s ok, the fuselage wont be closed up for a while.

Chuck Villanueva is the salt of the earth (and the light of the world and a city on a hill, but those are extras).
Merry Christmas to all!
