Completed Mirage F1 AZ 1/32 Scale, Scratch Build. Part 19.
Well there you have it, Finally finished.
I got the decal sheet from a friend of mine in IPMS Cape Town, and they came out just Fantastic.
So I hope you all enjoyed the build as much as I have, and I will post on my next build as I progress.
Enjoy the pictures,
Marc
There are people who put together plastic model kits...
There are people who scratch build a few small items to improve a kit's "perceived" deficiencies. These people also will occasionally use aftermarket resin parts to replace a similar part that is poorly made or simply not detailed enough for one's own liking. I fall into this category.
Then there are people who can make a plastic model kit from scratch. These people in this last group I mentioned are in a class of their own, and are what I consider to be a true modeling "Master" craftsman. This group is very limited in numbers. We have a few in this group on Imodeler.
You, Marc Barris, @marc
Michel Verschuere @michel-verschuere
and Rodney Williams @f2g1d
are in this group.
You definitely fit into this last category Marc... The best of the best. The "crem de la crem".
What you have done here is simply mind boggling... My Hat's off to you Sir !
I have enjoyed watching your build articles and you have inspired me to try a little more scratch building of my own. For that I thank you...
Well done sir and "liked". I can't wait to see what treat you have in store for us next !
Thank you so much for the kind words of inspiration Louis, its people like you that motivate me with every build I do. Its great chatting to you, and seeing what you do with your 1/1 builds of muscle cars, witch is absolutely fantastic. Hats off to you my friend.
Thanks again for the kind comment.
What Louis said. An absolutely great build.
Thanks a mil Robert.
I am glad this build is finished, but at the same time, I liked the installments on "the making of..." very much. Congratulations Marc, she looks really beautiful. Hope to see you here soon with another one of your epic scratchbuilds! Take care my friend!
Thank you so much for the comment Michel.
Marc - You are well aware of any deficiences that you see that the rest of us mere mortals can't, 'cos the faultless is just that. Like everyone else, I'll sign on to see the progress on the next on your production line. Congratulations and much applause. Paul
Hey Paul, always great to hear from you, thank you for the kind words.
Louis is right and the categories are spot on, and your inclusion in Category 3 is absolutely right, Marc. Your work is inspirational and the result is superb. My hat is off to you, sir!
Thank you as always for your comments Tom, it is much appreciated.
Masterfully built by a true Master of the craft of scratchbuilding. Well done Marc. I am in awe!

Thank you for the comment Richard, much appreciated.
🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
This is truly one I thought I would miss due to my absence here because of the electrical power failures after hurricanes Irma and Maria. As I now see, I have not. You have done a spectacular work Marc. This is truly a model subject I will not hesitate to search back for all the images and info missed.
Thank you for following the build, even with all the power failures and hurricanes. You comments have been an inspiration.
True craftsmanship, Marc. I always learn something from your projects.
Thanks you for the comment John, much appreciated.
A real beauty Marc! Loved the ride, and going along on your next one with you - I wouldn't miss it!
Thanks for the kind comment Greg.
What can I say that hasn't been said already.
Truly superb Marc!
Hey Mark, I think you are the only one on this site who has seen it in the flesh, so to speak. Thanks for the kind comment Mate.
Nostalgia off the charts! This build look amazing, Marc. Best camo scheme for the F1 too
