1/32 Scale Italeri F-104G ASA-M Italian Air Force with real aluminum skin

April 27, 2020 · in Aviation · · 3 · 1.7K

Well I have started my second in less than a month! I was commissioned to do this kit for an test pilot that flew this F-104, so here I go again! Cockpit and engine complete, now onto the hard part...the aluminum skin 🙁

I will post the finished model complete with custom made decals soon!

  1. Looking great so far Rick @rickschad. Question, I am planning on adding an F-104 to my stash in the future. Which offerings out there are your favorites. Not sure if I'm going 1/32, more than likely 1/48 but that is still a decision to be made.

  2. Hi James,
Thanks! I hear Hasegawa makes a great 1/48 scale kit. I prefer the 1/32 scale, due to my eyes lol! The Italeri kit is great and well engineered although it lacks some detail, but I add my own in anyway. This is my second 104 in a month! You can see the other one I did in my blog. I do the skin in actual aluminum which makes the models really stand out!

  3. That's a fantastic start, Rick! Nice details! EXCEPTIONAL seat!
Looking impatiently forward to see this as well done.
    All the best, my friend!
