Steyr Type 1500A/01 Tamiya 1/48
Well this may be a record or at least a par year for me. Its not even June and I have finished my second kit. Okay I cheated, and this was one of my business travel hotel builds that I put together when traveling for business. Still I got her done and will take what I can.
This is typical Tamiya just a fun easy enjoyable build. I have to admit I wasn't really "into" the kit just need something I could build without having to paint until done. Still while not a show stopper or even really anything special at all, I am happy with the results.
There was one thing though, I must have had one to many beers when I was doing the assembly. A sharp eye will catch it before the last picture.
Still searching. . . .
And while we wait - very nice hotelbuild!
Great build indeed, Walt!
Great work, I guess it's the license plate but only geeks pay attention to that 😉
You got it, the back panel is installed upside down which reverses all the components. I figure without the directions most people would never know. Unless of course they are a geek, right? 😉
Yes indeed, 🙂
Nicely done.
Nice job Walt. I built one of these awhile back and enjoyed the build too.
Aaahhhh - that license plate mount stares me in the eye now! - well spotted @michel-verschuere! @luftwaffe-birdman, that apart it is still a great little build! Would you perhaps consider a work-in-progress in groups? - I for one would love to have some references on 1/48 vehicles for my own builds 🙂 (or perhaps @erich1962 might consider some 1/48 builds in groups? no pressure!)
@airbum Erik I am flattered that you think enough of my build to ask. I am currently working on a 1/48th Jadgpanther (late). It is late in the build but I can finish it out in the "Military Vehicles – World War II and Before" Group that I am in. While I am a believer in the one true scale, I am not sure we need our own group for vehicles. Besides I bow down to the builders of 1/35th scale. I have learned a lot by listening to and watching how they do things. I enjoy doing the in progress so people can give me ideas or catch things that I didn't think of or miss. Never stop learning! Never stop trying new techniques!
I'll check out your build over in groups. And yes, 1/35 has a lot to offer, and I have to confess my preference is only due to the fact that I would like to have it all in the same scale, and I mostly build 1/48 aircraft. And it is as you say a real joy when people take the time to post their builds for others to learn and get new ideas. Stay safe!
@airbum Erik, I started a Work-In-Progress on the Jagdpanther I am working on. We will see how it goes...
