UH-34D Seahorse of HT-8, 1/72 Italeri.

June 9, 2020 · in Aviation · · 12 · 2.5K

This is 's UH-34D, using Print scale decals of a USN training squadron, which when I first ordered them I had thought they were for the Seahorses used in Antarctica. I always liked the Deep Freeze aircraft. I decided to do the HT-8 scheme any way. I forgot that Printscale decals can be difficult to use, they tend to curl when you apply them, luckily the larger ones can be man handled with out tearing, the smaller ones will curl up if you don't get them on right away. Paint is trusty MM rattle can orange 1628.

  5. Hello Robert,
We have a match, concerning the Deep Freeze aviation. (From all nations)
You did a tremendous job on the ORANGE color. You can't miss this model on the contest table.
    Regards, Dirk / The Netherlands.

  6. Looks great - and I know what you mean about those Printscale decals. I just had to pretty much toss a set for the Hs 129 I'm building. The solid color ones were ok, but the white-only crosses would not work at all - where there was no ink they just collapsed in upon themselves like a dead spider!

  7. lovely...reminds me of the old revell suitable for framing kit

Fantastic! I love orange colored aircraft!

  9. Very nice looks great, I love this helicopter.

  10. Great looking model. I’m relieved I’m not the only one who had problems with printscale decals. Luckily there was not a lot of large white areas in your decals, otherwise you would probably have needed to paint under them like I did…

  11. Printscale can be a challenge, thanks.
