EoJ entry: The Plane that came from a Sub- Aichi Seiran
This was my joy for the last 8 weeks or so, building a kit that although not the cutting edge of today Tamyia still bears the hallmark of this brand- an easy and straightforward build.
SonI took most of that time detailing, either with some scratch parts, or just paint work in my usual “artistic” view. I won't list all the extra bits I added, but a careful look will show you many;-)
Painted with Tamyia IJN grey and Green, cockpit with my own mixes using Real Colors from AK, all markings are painted (only the manufacturers plate stencil is decal). The dolly was painted with oils for the wood effect and hull red for the body frame.
Hope you like it, I sure did and It was my first floating duck plane since I took this hobby in a more “serious” way.
Thank you to all that followed the WIP and especially to my friend Louis Gardner for his contagious enthusiasm that brought me into building this kit that lingered in my stash for 23 years or so.

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you work the magic when you built this one. You captured the looks perfectly, and it looks fantastic ! You should be very proud of this build. I don't recall seeing another one as nice as this one is.
I also want to personally thank you for joining our ever growing Empire of Japan group build. I know that building Luftwaffe subjects is normally your thing, but having you post up how this beauty went together was a joy to watch unfold.
I will definitely be using your work in progress journal as a reference when it comes time to build up the one I have in my stash. It is an older Tamiya kit, but it still shines brightly...as you have shown us all here.
Now maybe I can persuade you to build your A6M next ? Enthusiasm is contagious. You have persuaded me to get going on a project I have been wanting to build for years now... My 1/48 scale Dragon / DML Ju-188... and it just might get a Mistel partner to go with it. You just never know...and I have painted the wheels for my 1/32 scale RoG Me-262 AND the 1/32 RoG He-219 kits. Things are getting serious at the "Iron Werks".

Great to see your Seiran posted for all to enjoy. The fine details and subtle painting effects make it look 1/32nd. I especially like the weathering. As I said in the EOJ build, this is easily the best build of the Tamiya Seiran I have yet seen online. Thanks for the modeling inspiration!

Great job, Pedro. Weathering looks great, as well as the detailing. I always wanted to build the compartment that these fit into on the submarine, and then build one of these all folded in its stored condition. Then I took a look at the work that would be needed to get this plane all folded up and decided to do something else.

Yes that would be an amazing diorama but an infernal scratchbuild project also. I remember seeing a photo of one such dio on the web, no reference to scale, and the amount of details there was pharaonic sized. And all you had was the plane still unfolded, the the open ring hatch of the sub hangar and the continuous ramp... crazy but beautiful work
