1/48 Tamiya P-47D “Nut Cracker” 405th FG
This is one of my favourite all time markings for the P-47.
The decals are from the Aeromaster Special "P-47's of the 405th FG" and I have quite a few more to build from this series of sheets (3 parts) if interested contact Norris Graser as he did most of the research for these sheets and still has a few available to sell.
Ultracast Seat and Wheels
Tamiya / Mr Hobby Acrylics, Tamiya AS12, Alclad, Future Gloss and Xtracrylic Flat Coat.
Happy Modelling

"Another one yet equally excellent", Darren!
The scheme is indeed amazing!
Great choice of nose art
Another great Jug, Darren! How many P-47s have you built?
over 40... binned quite a few earlier efforts and sold a couple as well.
Currently 30 (approx) in the cabinet - many more to come!
Great result again, Darren. @darren-d
Out of these 30, how many different kit manufactures are involved?
Or are all of them from one specific brand.
If different manufactures, which one has your preference
All my P-47's are Tamiya kits. Tamiya produces the best P-47 in 1/48 and there is enough resin bits vaialble to do earlier P47C/D's so most versions are covered. My only lament is they have not done the P-47N which would start a new production line at my P-47 factory if they released one...
another beauty! And that scheme is pretty cool.
Yawn...another top quality build P-47.
Keep them coming, Darren. Very nice inspiration for future builds. You are absolutely right about the colour scheme, very pretty. I always liked the OD bit going from front to back.
Very nice!
Darren, Very nice, I really like the looks of this very attractive scheme., and the over all build looks fantastic.
and thanks for letting me know (by your prior comment above), that you've built more P-47s, than me, makes me feel a little bit more normal (almost)!
And yet another proof that practice does indeed make perfect. Looking good!
Darren,
These are all some magnificent builds !
It’s hard to pick a favorite from your recent P-47 articles . Thanks for sharing these beauties with us...
A seriously great model Darren Lovely finish & markings. Can't blame you for liking the Tamiya kit either; it's a masterpiece.
