Anna Maria Sophia Sailboat 1/100 – Scratchbuilt
Hello everyone. It’s been a while since the last model so I had to get things going. I wanted to try one of the ship paper models for a change, so I pick an easy one, or so I thought… The Anna Maria Sophia (aka Sir Pitschek) is pretty straight forward in its construction but as you will notice in the WIP pictures I used to much glue and everything turned out a bit woobly. So I decided to scratch build it using materials I am more accustomed to, plastic and brass.
The hull was made from balsa wood, dressed with plastic sheet. Superstructures also. Masts are brass tubing and sails are aluminum sheet.
Lots of things are not as straight as they should be, so I had to create a distraction to lead the eye away from them, so I made some dolphins swimming along from miliput.
An enjoyable and fast build to get the mojo back. Now time for a warship!
