2021 Indianapolis Roscoe Turner IPMS Show

April 18, 2021 · in Show Reports · · 13 · 2.6K

Yesterday marked the first show I was able to attend since the beginning of lockdowns. Ironically the last show I attended was also hosted by the IPMS chapter over thirteen months ago. The club moved the contest site to the Boone County Fairgrounds in Lebanon, Indiana. The new venue provided ample space to spread out and increase the size of the contest and vendors' areas and still provide for wide isles. There was considerable pent-up demand, this was Indy IPMS' biggest show on record with 119 vendor tables and 904 contest entries! Everybody was happy to get out and had a great time. Several categories were just overwhelmed, single engined aircraft in 1/72 and 1/48 scale each had over three dozen entries! It was great to catch up with everyone and it was a fine day out! This is just a sampling of what was on the tables.

  1. Awesome Jeff! Thanks for the photos! Lots of great lockdown builds on display, no doubt.

  2. Lots of nice stuff to look at, but sadly that header photo shows that the 3M Theory is still operational.

  3. Jeff if I knew you were there I would have said hello. I whole hardly agree, it was a great show and the Rosco Turner club did an outstanding job. The 904 models were just about double what they usually get. I was lucky to pull out a bronze for my FW Ta-183 Huckebein, added bonus was I won the new HK 1/48 B-17G model in their raffle. Quality of models on the tables was outstanding and now I need to decide if I want to build that B-17. Great job Indy and thanks Jeff for sharing those great pics.

  12. Hello Jeff,
Appreciated your contribution. A highlight in these dark days.
My favorite was the prowler. I think it even was the old 1/48 Monogram.
