Another Year and Another Four Models
I seem destined to never complete more then four models per year. Looking back when I am building, I only seem to be able to finish four per year. I guess considering my propensity of medium and larger aircraft in 1/48th scale I guess I can't complain too much. So here are my four for 2021...
Monogram 1/48th B-17G "The Swoose - 1944 Model"
Monogram/Revell 1/48 Bf110G-2 ZG1 "Skeletal Hand"
Great Wall Hobby 1/48th P-61 "Nocturnal Nemesis"
Hasegawa 1/48th Bf109G-2 "Captured 109"
Congratulations on yet another productive year, Walt!
All four models are truly EXCELLENT!
Happy new year!
Four amazing builds, Walt @luftwaffe-birdman
Your modelling excellency is clearly seen on every one of them.
Walt: It's not the quantity, it's the quality, and you've got that handled, @luftwaffe-birdman.
Very nice. I thought the umbrella was a joke till I saw the pic of the real thing!
4 very nicely built models... A great year of modeling I’d say. All 4 are very interesting .
Congrats on your 2021 output. All very well done, Walt. Keeping it stress free and fun is the goal.
Well done Walt, besides, who's counting and why. Four great looking builds that crossed the finished line.
Wonderful collection, well done!
@luftwaffe-birdman, Beautiful builds each one Walt! That's a year's worth of great scale model work sir. ? I am impressed by the wooden "deck" under that Me-110 too. Is that scratch-built?
Thanks Gary, @garybrantley, yes the wooden deck base under the Me-110 is scratch built. I used balsa wood cut into strips and lengths to give them randomness. I used very dilute stains to give them variation in color and then put them on my plywood base with some ground medium around the edges. I believe I used celluclay and then applied static grass. It is pretty easy to do, and think it helps set a model apart when you can put it on a base that puts it in a plausible natural setting.
Thanks Walt! That sounds like a good technique for me to try! I've been wanting some "different" bases for my photo sessions. I appreciate the tips! ?
Great work on all!
@luftwaffe-birdman - Happy New Year! Those are four models you can be totally proud of!
Amazing work on your builds, they all look great!
