Eduard/Hasegawa 1:72 B-25J Medium Bomber
Hi Guys,
I just finished this (more or less) B-25J I did for a group a build. This North American B-25J was named Angel of Mercy and flew with the 412th Bombing Squadron, 310th Bomb Group 12th U.S. Airforce out of Corsica, France in January 1945. She eventually crash landed and was written off I believe.
The kit is a Eduard Rebox of the original Hasegawa kit. It came with photo etch, resin wheels and the new Eduard decals which are quite nice. I replaced the kit cowlings with correct ones from Quickboost as well as a set of resin MG barrels from Quick boost as well. The upper nose glazing did not have the correct emergency door exit so I scratched that which was a real challenge for me and my limited scratch building skills as I had to glue styrene strips without frosting the clear plastic, fill and sand multiple times to get to look the part. The yellow stripped decals for the tails were subpar so I painted on the strips. No gloss coat was used. Just added a Flory Models wash.
Amazing result, David!
Good looking B-25, David. Nice NMF as well.
Looks great, David. What paints did you use for the NMF?
Looks fabulous! Well done
Looks very good , David @totalize, you did an excellent job on it.
Museum quality build!
Thanks Gents. The NMF paint I used was Mr. Hobby Plate Silver.
Fantastic B-25! Great NMF!
Thank you Lis.
Very nice looking Mitchell. Looks like a great kit. Any tricks using Mr. Hobby? Did you lay down a black under coat?
3:1 mixture of gloss white and gloss black let dry. Spray on light coats of the Plate Silver ~3 passes and let cure for 48 hours.
Great result and ditto looks, David @totalize
Very nice NMF.
Thanks John!
Nice B-25. I have considered getting the Hasegawa B-25J and your model makes a good case for the purchase.
Go for it!
Gorgeous results David! I really like that scheme and the clean NMF.
Thanks Andrew.
Looks pretty good from what I can see from these smaller images!
