Trumpeter 1/35 Pz.Kpfw. 38(t) Ausf.E

September 16, 2022 · in Armor · · 6 · 0.8K

Still building in a loosely chronological order. I wanted to get the tanks done before starting on the German made Panzers..
The fit of this kit was good overall, but there were some issues with gaps with the top plate at the front & rear, as well as the front fenders and front glacis. Gaps thin enough to fix with CA. The glacis plate should be fitted with all the hull plates in place. Following the instructions left me with a gap and I had to remove & replace the glacis to correct. The link & length tracks had light injection flash but after doing a bit of test fitting the individual links on the sprocket, I didn't like how the links fit together. I ended up going with R Model metal tracks. They're like Friulmodel but use steel vs. copper wire. Can't go wrong with metal tracks as they look infinitely better. Build completed April 2021.

This 38(t) was finished as a tank in the 22nd Panzer Division, France 1940.

  1. Replacing the tracks looks like it was a good idea, DJ, the model sits very well.

  2. As beautiful as the other submissions, Juan @juan2six
    Well done.
