Tamiya 1/48 Ilyushin IL-2 Sturmovik
Hello!
Here's my recent project, this very nice Tamiya kit. Nothing else to say regarding its quality and easy to build, it's been around for quite some time now. I've just added Quinta 3d decals and resin wheels. Used Aqueous Gunze paints, my favorites, over Mr Surfacer 1500 black primer. Also, my very first attempt in the riveting process, which is a lot of work; but the result is very satisfying.
Hope you'll enjoy.
Cheers!
George
Good work on this classic kit, George, cheers indeed.
Thank you!
Excellent job, George!
Thank you!
Great looking Sturmovik, George @george72
The triple color camouflage and weathering does look superb.
Thank you!
I can definitely see the hard work you put in there George. Looks great. Camo and weathering looks real.
Thank you!
Thank you!
The paint job is amazing with these subtle layers!
Thank you!
Gorgeous build- just the right amount of weathering! Very very nice!
Thank you!
Very nice job! I just wish Tamiya would properly size the rockets. Didn't know about this flaw until someone pointed it out on my scaled down 1:72 version. They are almost triple the size of the real rockets.
Thank you!
Looks fantastic - the paint and weathering, and the riveting work, are all excellent.
Thank you!
Very competent work. The weathering and overall paint finish look convincing.
Thank you!
An amazing build!
Thank you!
Gorgeous model George, bravo!
I can clearly see some details (and shapes) that are absent on the AM plastic.
Thumbs up!
Thank you!
Great work, George (@george72), especially fading and wear and tear in the paint. Well done.
Thank you!
Beautiful build, I really love the paint work and weathering. You really have given it and excellent look consistent but not overdone. Beautiful!
Thank you!
