1/48th N/AW & A-10A Thunderbolt II
Models of originally single seat fighters/bombers converted to tandem seats may have more appeal. The A-10 follows the path. Hobbyboss' N/AW A-10A is a good model. The optional extended flaps and air brakes add much to the dynamics of the model. However, the cockpit is pretty basic and I had much trouble with the fit of the canopies.
I often build older generation models given that the completed new generation model left behind ample spares or additinal attractive camouflage schemes. Here, I built the venerable Revel/Monogram kit using ordnance and the Vulcan muzzles from the Hobbyboss kit. The Revell kit is very basic and has raised panel lines. Yet, it looks like a Thunderbolt especially with the full ordnance displayed.
Amazing builds, Rafi! You did an excellent job on both! I love a lot the idea to use kit leftover parts, in order to enrich an older/simpler kit. Of note is that, despite its simplicity, Monogram seems to have captured the Thunderbolt II / Warthog posture.
Thank you Spiros
Both are equally beautiful, Rafi @blackmopane
The HobbyBoss does indeed look much more dynamic.
Happy New Year.
Thank you John
Happy New Year
Both are well done, Rafi. I'm partial to the dual seater.
Of course. Thank you Gary
A10s always look so purposeful, you’ve captured that look perfectly.
