M113 Desert Version Tamiya 1/35
Hi. First post.
Built this last month. I usually stick to airplanes, mostly WW II era. However, since my son is in the army and this is his primary vehicle, I thought I would build it. Enjoyed putting this together. Only used some of the many accessories as I didnt want to cover the entire vehicle. Tamiya paints and weathering products.
Getting back into the hobby after about 45 year absence. Lots of builds as kid back in the mid to late 70s. This was my 5th build since starting back. More to come. Glad to find this site. Enjoy looking at all the excellent work.
Welcome aboard! This is really well done- the weathering on the tracks and bottom half of the vehicle is spot on. Great first post!
Thanks, glad to be here!
@rfking, Russ, that track looks really good to me! 👍 I noticed the subtle staining around the fuel fillers, nice touch sir! 🍻 I'm plan to build Tamiya's Vietnam-era M113 in honor of my first-cousin Thomas, who was a track commander in VN, circa 1968-'69 for one of my next armor builds. I bet your son will approve of this one! Thanks for posting it, and welcome to iModeler! 😃
Thanks Gary!
Well done, Russ. Welcome back to the hobby and welcome to iModeler. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Thanks Gary. Will post more soon
Only your fifth since getting back to the hobby? Proof that it really IS "like riding a bicycle." 🙂
Very nice work, I particularly like the very realistic weathering.
Thanks Tom!
Looks great! I'm more of an airplane guy, so look forward to your future posts as well. Welcome to the site and back to the hobby!
Thanks Greg!
You entered with an excellent build, Russ @rfking
Welcome to this great community.
This M113 looks really nice, perfect weathering, it shows you did not loose your expertise in modelling after all those years of absence.
Thanks John!
An amazing, very realistic result, Russ!
Welcome aboard!
Terrific result on your M113, Russ. When I first saw the headline photo you posted, I thought it was the real deal. Your weathering is spot on. Welcome back to building models again. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Thanks Eric. Should finish up the Devastator in the next few days.
Welcome, Russ! Nice to see one of these built.
Nice looking piece of armour, welcome to iModeler.
Nicely done Russ, weathering is spot on and welcome to iModeler. Best modeling site on the web IMHO.
