Hobbyboss F-80C Shooting Star
Hi everyone
This was a nice stress free build. I picked this up for a bargain £12.00 at Telford last year so very happy with that. The kit went together very well and even the thick decals conformed well to the curves of the model. AK Extreme metals were used for the natural metal finish. Then coated with Tamiya Smoke to give a little bit of depth. Sadly my picture taking is not the best. Hopefully I will get that sorted at some time 🙂
A nice looking NMF, and a great looking build. While it's hard for me to look past this kit's design errors, it's really easy to say that you've done a great job with the presentation, and most of all, its sounds like you've had a good time building it! 🙂 Its also great to see another 50's jet.
PS, how did you do the marston mat?
Hi Andrew
The matting was an offcut from an Eduard pre formed base which was the base of my Pro Modeller Sabre dog ... the family cat got the dog though 🙁 so it now has the Shooting Star on it.
@thom, sorry to hear about the Sabre dog, but the base does look great repurposed.
Your pictures are fine and it's a great build, nice base too.
Very nice!
Looks good from where I’m sitting, Guy, a bargain in every respect.
Really nice F-80, guy (@thom), with a very well done NMF. F-80s and T-33s have long been a favorite of mine, and your build has moved a couple of kits farther up the build queue. The dragon is very cool. Cheers.
Nice work, Guy. I’m a big F-80 fan.
Excellent model and great base, Guy!
Well done!
Nice, great job!
Your build is definitely a Star, Guy @thom
A great chosen scheme.
This looks great , awesome work on it. I’ve never built a HobbyBoss kit before, but I might this one.
Excellent build! The NMF looks great ant that scheme is a nice one.
