1/32 scale Tamiya Mosquito complete build

February 2, 2023 · in Aviation · · 17 · 1.5K

Hello fellow modelers! Here is my completed scale . First off I can't recommend this kit enough, but only for the experienced builder as it is a complicated build and you really need to pay attention. There are also a few steps that are very confusing and a few mistakes in the instructions. As per usual in Tamiya kits; the decals are not that great, Otherwise this is a great build with lot's of opportunity for super detailing.

I finished my kit in all Tamiya acrylic paints and added my own wiring details.

Overall this kit took me 200 hours to build.

Great airplane and another great kit by Tamiya!

  1. Beautifully done.
I've got a couple of the 1/48 types and they are sizeable.
    This must be huge.

    Cheers,
    Alistair

  2. Thanks my friend! Yes she is pretty sizable for sure!

  3. That's pretty impressive - looks like a lot of time and effort went into that one. Nicely done!

  4. That's one good-looking Mossie! Excellent work!

  5. Amazing result, Rick @rickschad
Those 200 hours are very well spend.
    Weathering and painting is excellent.

  6. Well, you can certainly see where all the 200 hours went. Nice result.

  7. Yeah that's a great job on that. That FBIV is quite the piece of work. Was eyeballing that kit at the LHS $249.95!
That crashed it for me, good to see yours.

  8. A fantastic result, Rick! Echoing @tcinla 's words, it is pretty clear where all those 200 hours went.
    Congratulations!

  9. It may be an expensive kit, but given the time spent building it, it seems like a bargain. Great looking Mosquito.

  10. @rickschad - absolutely incredible detail work. It seems like taking 200 hours to build this kit was the right way to go Rick. Beautiful result and makes the cost of the kit well worth it when you can spend that much time working on it. Very impressive!
