HMS Glory, 1951

Hi All!
Here is my next contribution to the Korean War Group Build, a Hawker FB.11from HMS Glory. The Sea Fury is 's 1/48th scale kit. The kit is well detailed, easy to build Fits very well and is in scale. Airfix supplies drop tanks, rockets, bombs and a photo pod.The decals are from the kit, the paint is from my recently extinct Polly Scale stash. The pale serials under wing was 801 NAS's attempt to hide aircraft identities.

 .

The Sea Fury as it appeared on Glory prior to the theater stripes being applied ( Yeah! I hate stripes!). The Hawker Sea Fury FB.II, serialed WJ236, coded 155 Ris from 801 NAS.

  1. Turned out great, Bruce! I dislike stripes too. They break up the planes lines too much.

  2. Great result, Bruce!

  3. That's really nice!

  4. Really nice job on this Bruce , well done. I wondered about the pale coloured serial numbers, that's something I've not seen before on FAA aircraft. Black and white stripes are COOL! though LOL

  5. It’s always pleasing to see a well built Airfix model, the naval livery really looks good.

  6. Nice work Bruce, great looking Sea Fury.
