Airfix Hawker Typhoon Mk. IB 1/72
Taken of the shelf of doom after a long break.
All of a sudden things started to roll and i finished it within a few days. The scheme is from No. 245 squadron in 1945.
Painted with Ammo Mig and AK Interactive acrylics, Ammo Mig panel line wash.
A beautiful kit with lots of details. I bought a Yahu cockpit panel which is not worth the trouble since you don't see anything from the cockpit really.
Man, it's hard to photograph these tiny planes!
Nice work, Felix! I thought it was 1/48 at first.
Hi John @j-healy, thanks a lot!
Great result on this Typhoon, Felix @fxrob
Indeed hard to believe this is 1/72.
Very nice paintwork and weathering on this scheme. Not often seen with the blue/white checker fuselage band.
Hi John @johnb, thank you for your kind words. I got to admit, the schemes provided by Airfix are always very appealing!
Amazing result, Felix! Indeed, the it is hard to believe it is 1/72!
Evxaristo, Spiros! Glad you like it!
I agree with the comments above - your paint variation and sense of tonality give this a sense of size beyond its scale. But you're right - it's hard to photograph a 1/72 plane in a way that makes it feel large; stacking and blending a file of images in Photoshop is the best way I've found.
Dear Tim @timtozer231, thanks for your feedback and your tipps. I do edit the images in Lightroom sometimes. But i think the main issue is having a good lens really.
Nice work, love the scheme and that shark mouth.
Hey Robert @roofrat, thanks a lot for your feedback!
The Typhoon is such a good looking plane and you’ve definitely captured that with this model, the photographs are great as well.
Thank you George @chinesegeorge, i agree with you on the looks of the Typhoon. Thank you for your compliments!
Lovely build! I also like that scheme - had never seen that one before. Well done.
Hi Greg @gkittinger, thank you so much for your kind words! The scheme is actually straight out of the box from Airfix. I love it!
