Oklahoma City MetroCon model show
This past Saturday I drove up the turnpike with a couple of fellow club members to attend the annual OKC show. Sorry for the limited subject matter in the pics, but as an aircraft guy that was all I took pics of! The BV 222 (6-engine seaplane) was one of our club members - a phenomenal builder. I picked up a couple of inspirational ideas from some of the entries...
I didn't take pics of my entries - you've seen them before anyway!
Enjoy
Great photos! Thanks Greg!
Some very nice work! I like the B-17 crew sitting on the nose...Unique.
Looks like it was a great show with lots of very good builds. I actually followed the build of the B-24 "Snow White" on Facebook. Thanks for sharing.
Wow. GAF I wasn't up against some of these masterworks. The skillsets of modelers all over just keeps growing.
VG fottagraffy too.
Thanks for great photos of the many very well-done builds. Agree with Gary S. on the B-17 guys hanging out on the nose...special.
Seems like you had an amazing day, Greg @gkittinger
Each and every aircraft you showed are fantastic builds, but I do agree that the BV222 is a true work of art.
@gkittinger
Have to agree with you, the Blomm & Voss really stands out, even more because it’s a seldom (if not unique) seen model.
But there are several other fabulous models there. Is that WW1 biplane an Aviatik Berg D.1? It’s also fabulous
Holy cow Batman, that's some really nice work on display. Thanks for sharing Greg.
The Bv 222 is outstanding.
Indeed!
Amazing pics, Greg! What a wonderful day! Thanks for sharing!
Oh, and that BV222, a masterpiece!
Just awesome models, thanks for sharing Greg...must have been a fantastic time!
What an amazing level of skill in scale modeling!
That BV is a real killer, guess it turned out “Best of show”?
Thanks for sharing.
Great pics, Greg.
Looks ,Ike you guys had a great day out, thanks for sharing the photos, Greg.
Thanks for sharing those pics. Wow. It seems a very consistent high level of quality in all those builds. Seriously some good stuff there. Of course that BV stands out, but a lot of other great builds as well. Makes me want to see them all in person!
Great report Greg always good to see some great builds!
Great shots, thank you for sharing!
Thanks for posting those amazing contest photos Greg. That BV 222 is phenomenal, no doubt about it. You have some real masters builders in your club.
Thanks for sharing, Greg inspirational indeed. The six-engine seaplane is off the chart!
The Bv-222 is astounding. The contemporary Navy jets are nice, good weathering on them. Dick Best's SBD-3 is #2 behind the Bv-222 in the WW2 category. The idea of putting crewmen in, on, and around the B-17 and B-24 is very good.
