Comet Tamiya 1:35

July 31, 2023 · in Armor · · 9 · 405

Another great kit from . As with his all of their newer kits, this one is essentially flawless. Similar to other recent Tamiya kits, the crew figures in this kit are a real step above what Tamiya produced in the past. It was a fun quick build. The kit's only shortcoming, as far as I'm concerned, is that the had a relatively short combat record--entering thhe ETO in January 1945. This leaves limited opportunities for modifications compared to other WW2 kits.

  2. Superb result, Dennis @dmeyers
Weathering and figure painting is done superbly, like the rest as well.

  3. No matter how good the kit may be it still takes skill to get it looking this good.

  4. This one looks great! I like the more subdued weathering. Fantastic job on the figures!

  5. Very realistic weathering and a great build, Dennis. I recently saw a real Comet on display in the UK. An amazingly compact vehicle and no doubt formidable, nearly on par with the early Centurion for armor and armament. The Tamiya model is a beauty and worth a diorama in either a European of Korean War setting. Your figures are very life-like and would bring the scene alive.

  6. @dmeyers this entire offering is fabulous. The figures as well as the tank are rendered as good as I’ve seen. Thanks much for sharing.

  7. Nice work, Dennis.

  8. @dmeyers: excellent! Those two guys in the turret are particularly outstanding. Weathering is spot on.

  9. That is a fantastic tank model, Dennis @dmeyers! 😃 The figures do look great and I like your weathering approach! 👍
