Italeri 1/48 Westland Wessex HU.5
I had so much fun building this.
Never having built a Helicopter before but the scheme caught my eye and so I decided the time was right to give it a go.
Primed with Tamiya Neutral Grey.
Painted with Airfix Signal Red.
Colourcoats RAF Blue Grey, Ocean Grey.
Tamiya Nato Black, Rubber Black, Olive Green, Off White, Flat Aluminium, Sky Blue, Clear Red and Clear Green.
Mr Hobby Chrome Yellow
Xtreme Metals Steel, Pale Burnt Metal.
Rigged with Uschi Van Der Rosten Standard.
You may have noticed I forgot to paint the Nav Lights.
This was spotted when I was adding the pics and is now sorted.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
Alistair
Excellent Wessex. The RN rescue schemes really do stand out.
Thanks so much.
It was the scheme that caught my attention.
Absolutely stunning, Alistair!
Almost beyond belief that it is your first helicopter model.
The scheme is very attractive, bit it took your skills to come with such an awesome result!
Congratulations!
Thanks Spiros,
Most kind of you.
That's really nice Alistair - a very good scheme to choose. Excellent work on the model.
Thanks very much Tom
Absolutely perfect, Alistair @alistairfgauld
Hard to believe this is your first helicopter build.
Thank you so much.
A real beauty. Hope you build a few more copters, Alistair @alistairfgauld. Cockpit looks terrific.
Thanks so much,
I do have a Lynx, two Sea Kings and a Hind to do somewhere down the road.
One of my favorite paint schemes on a helo, Alistair (@alistairfgauld), and you have captured it perfectly. I don't build many helicopters, but I enjoy them when I do. Well done.
Thanks very much
Great looking chopper! Really like the playing card decal. Awesome!
Many thanks
Really like this, wonderful build!
Thank you very much
Nice looking Wessex, this colour scheme really suits it.
Thanks so much
Wow, this looks just gorgeous, Alistar @alistairfgauld! Looks like a lot of decals!
Many thanks,
Not as many as a Phantom or the Hunter though.
Wasn't too bad.
Beauty. Spent a few happy hours in these and HAR2 getting wet...
Permanent fixture round Plymouth where I was bought up. Nice job.
Thanks so much
Well done, Alistair. Great scheme.
Nice build and a very attractive scheme - I can see why it motivated you to take on a rotor-top!
