  1. Beautiful clean silver finish on this, Phillip, where are you planning to display it?

    • I might rejoin one of the model clubs near me and maybe put it on their table at model shows.

      • G'day Phillip, where do you display it at home ? a couple of pic's of my RAAF version ! (phillipe50)

        • At the moment it is on an old PC desk.
I am converting another computer desk with two shelves plus it's desktop into a cabinet to display all my 44/44 (Rhodesia) squadron aircraft as used by this squadron from its inception in 1917 till it's final disbandment in 1982. So far I have the Sopwith Camel 'Comic', the Hawker Hind, the Blenhiem, the Hampden, this RAF Washington and a B.2 Canbera. Still to build are a Lancaster, a Lincoln (vac form kit) and a Vulcan. These are in my stitch.

  2. Excellent job, Phillip!

  3. Beautiful model, Phillip @phillipe50! 👏

  4. Pretty Birdie Very good NMF

  5. Impressive build!

  6. Very nice - and indeed a monster of an aircraft (even in 1/72)!

  7. Nice job. A natural metal finnish is a hard one to do nicely, but you've done it. Even in 1/72 scale it's still a big model. I have the old Monogram 1/48 scale kit in the stash but I'm not sure where I'd put it when it was done.

  8. Super work Philip!

  9. Real nice and an unusual subject! Even with the Lincoln UK didn't have a really modern bomber.

  10. Very nice result, Phillip @phillipe50
I was not aware that the RAF used B29 bombers.
The metal finish turned out really good.

    • Several RAF squadrons used the B-29 Superfortress but it was known as the Washington B.I as the RAF named their bombers after cities.
Here are two listings of the 87 B-29 Superfortresses (Washington B.I's) as used by the RAF and which aircraft was posted to which squadron:

      • A correction to the list above, WW353 and WW354 did not return to the UK, returned to RAF charge but were scrapped here in Australia, WW349 was to join these two but was destroyed in a taxiing accident by a Valiant WP216 while parked as noted above !

  11. Many thanks for the kind comments.

  12. Great looking build.

  13. Good looking model of an alternative rarely seen.

  14. That is one huge model, even in 1/72 scale! You applied a really beautiful natural metal finish. Thank you for sharing it.

  15. Nice work, Phillip. You almost never see that kit built, especially as a Washington.

  16. Beauty chap. As I said on the other channel, I had no idea...

Interesting twist on an iconic aeroplane ❤️

  17. Beautifully done! looks good in RAF markings.

  18. Nice job! I wasn't aware the British had so many of those.

  19. That's inspiring. May have to add a Washington to my list!

  20. Nice, cleanly done Phillip, looks good. (@phillipe50)
