Monogram 1987 Corvette roadster 1/24 scale
Built box stock, this model depicts the pace car used for the 70th running of the Indianapolis 500 held during the month of May in 1986. The body was painted Testors Daytona Yellow and shows one of my first attempts at weathering a chassis. Thanks for taking a look.
That looks fabulous, John, the Daytona Yellow really pops. Who was the lucky driver?
None other than Chuck Yeager. @chinesegeorge. Thanks for the question.
Fantastic job, John!
Ahhhh, the much missed Chuck being the driver! Could not get any better!
Yep, the man certainly knew a thing or two about going fast. Thanks, Spiros! @fiveten
Excellent achievement, John @jdtruby
Nice paintwork.
Thank you, John! @johnb
Great build John. The weathering on the chassis is outstanding, beautiful job! I love the the paint scheme too. Chevy had a color in 1968,69 called Daytona Yellow, and it's very close to the Testors shade. It may even be the same. I had a '68 Chevelle painted that color for over 30 years. With the release of Revell's '68 Chevelle model, I'll be building one like my real one.
I'm sure it will look fantastic. I look forward to it. Thanks, Clint. @curtisshawk
Nice 'Vette, John!
Thanks, Joe! @jroamer
Nice work, John. I actually forgot about that generation of Vette. Can’t believe 1986 is almost 40 years ago.
Yep, time seems to fly by especially the older you get. Thanks, John! @j-healy
Really nice, John @jdtruby! 🤩 I think those C4 Corvettes are still attractive cars and you've sure done them justice. Beautiful work! 👏
Thanks, Gary for the nice compliment. @garybrantley
