Revell 1/32 Focke wulf 190F8/9
Revell's big Wurger is a very nice kit. Fit of parts is good and the BMW 801 is included. This combination is rare among Wurger model manufacturers because in most cases cowling panels would not close properly on the engines not to mention that the building process of the front section is complicated. It appears that Revell simplified the engine components to achieve a good fit of sub-assemblies to the mainframe. in these two builds my strategy was to show the models with engine cowlings open for daily maintenance, thus hiding the intricate details of the engine that are not there. Full engine detailing is better shown with cowls removed and for engine kits of the 1/48th scale. This scale is more suitable for the details to show thanks to the ample of aftermarket accessories and excellent platform kits available.
Of course, one would not see a fully armed aircraft undergoing maintenance, but I thought that the drawing decal adorning the bomb was cool.
Very nice. You did a great job with the engine and cowlings and the camouflage is convincing. I like it a lot. Congratulations Rafi.
Thank you Ben.
Well done, Rafi!
Thank you Gary.
Great pair of Wurgers, outstanding paint.
Thank you Bill!
You did a great job Rafi, good looking build.
Thank you Mark.
Fantastic result on this Würger, Rafi @blackmopane
The details on the engine are beautiful.
Thank you John.
Another wonderful result, Rafi! Absolutely love the weathering! Thanks as always for the kit info.
P.S. Nothing wrong in opening the underside cowlings with a bomb loaded: no extensive maintenance, just a glimpse on engine leaks!
Thank you Spiros!
Nice work on both.
Thank you Chas.
🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
Absolutely pleasant work on this Focke Wulf 190F8/9, Rafi.
Your work on the camouflage is very well done and the engine detail is very convincing
and very well achieved.
Thank you DE!
An excellent pair of Butcher Birds you have there, Rafi. @blackmopane
Thank you John!
Way to go, Rafi (@blackmopane). I love these newer 1/32 Revell kits, and you have really hit a home run with it. Well done.
Thank you George!
Outstanding work as usual, Rafi. I always shy away from building airplane models with the cowlings open because i feel it takes away from the beautiful lines of the aircraft,
But it works well with this kit, and looks great! I may build mine that way too.
Thank you Clint.
Wurgers are popular topic for engine display because it adds much to the realism of the model.
Excellent work - a real beauty!
Thank you Greg!
